    What are Heart Arrhythmias?

    Heart arrhythmias are abnormalities in the heartbeat. The heart can beat too fast, too slow, or irregularly.

    Types of Arrhythmias

    Tachycardia

    Heart rate above 100 beats per minute at rest.

    Bradycardia

    Heart rate below 60 beats per minute.

    Atrial Fibrillation

    Irregular, often rapid heartbeat. Most common arrhythmia.

    Symptoms

    • Heart palpitations
    • Dizziness
    • Shortness of breath
    • Chest pain
    • Fatigue

    Treatments

    Medication

    • Antiarrhythmics
    • Blood thinners
    • Beta-blockers

    Procedures

    • Cardioversion
    • Ablation
    • Pacemaker

    Prevention

    1. Limit caffeine and alcohol
    2. Manage stress
    3. Exercise regularly
    4. Treat underlying conditions
